The first picture shows the vanilla skins (which don't have a tint) next to the affected ones. Usually, they will have at least their hair tinted in a specific color, which as I've written before is a great way to help you create your own character and not have the male version look like a total disgrace. As for the others, you might see some specific improvements, such as for instance an orange tint on lips or nails. Some of the other characters have an effect on the colors of the face. If you're willing to do the hard work, a nice way to help get you started is to edit the color of the lips with a filter.

The second picture shows the character's nose and eye tints, again for the vanilla characters first. Just for some fun with mods, you can try to add a white or black nostril, as this will make for a more realistic effect. To show you how, you can use the additive color filter to draw a white or black line on the left or right side of the nose, then put this over the image.
As for the eyes, all of these have a tint applied, but not all are the same. A lot of players like the ones with their eyes covered, while others make eye frames for their characters. Personally, I think it's the most realistic way to approach these, but you can choose.
Head shape: the shape, proportions and even how we play with symmetry versus asymmetry are key to making a person look attractive. Having a slightly more feminine face compared to male characters is a plus, but this is also a reason why some of these heads look a bit off to the left. This is a part that is better and worse in the Head section, so you will see people with more masculine shapes in there and you will see some of them with absolutely terrible sides. While it's not a big deal to have a slightly more feminine face, as long as you can be pulled off without too much effort or paying big money for the right skin, I'm sure you can find ways to make your character look good. If you want to know how to find a good face model, you can look it up on many of the self-mod sites and a quick search will reveal the most popular female faces with a built-in shape finder. Some of them will let you play with all the settings on the tool as well, so you will have an idea of what to do on your own.
